Dr. Jean McNiff, an independent researcher, works with practitioners involved in action research in townships and universities, schools and corporations, across continents. She has institutional ties to York St John University, UK: the University of Limerick, Ireland; the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University, South Africa; and the Ningxia Teachers’ University, People’s Republic of China. Dr. McNiff is a frequent keynote presenter and authors of many articles and books on action research. Her most recent is Action Research : Principles and Practice (3rd Edition). Dr. Joseph M. Shosh, (Ph.D., New York University) is an associate professor of education and director of the Master of Education Program in Curriculum and Instruction at Moravian College. He is a recipient of the National Council of Teachers of English Paul and Kate Farmer English Journal Writing Award, the James N. Moffett Award for Classroom Research, and Cornell University’s Merrill Scholar Teaching Award, He is a frequent contributor to journals writing about action research as well as topics in English education. He is a founding member of the The Action Research Network of the Americas (ARNA) and is the Program Chair for the second ARNA conference at Moravian College in May, 2014.

Keynote Discussion with Dr. Kimberly Greene
Dr. Kimberly Greene (EdD, Pepperdine) is an associate professor of education and director of the Center for Instructional Innovation at Brandman University in Irvine, California.Dr. Green serves as an educational media specialist for EdTEch 21 which provides educational curriculum development services for corporate and public sector clients. In 2004, she consulted with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services to create a talking book The Afghan Family Health Book that teachers basic survival skills to Afghani women. Dr. Greene writes the internationally successful young adult novel Pop Star series. In previous years, Dr. Greene taught in the MALT program at Pepperdine.

E. Alana James, Ed.D. specializes in action research methods for several universities doctoral programs in Education and Business Management. Students provided both the impetus and many of the stories used in her recent book Action research for business, nonprofits, and public administration: A tool for complex times. Dr. James is a leader in the use of Participatory Action Research methods across networks to aid the underprivileged. She has expanded her understanding through facilitating the Future(s) of Education Project which uses international teams in virtual environments to propose and study examples of new designs for education.
