They can be judgmental. Developing the questions for their AR gives them an opportunity to move from judging to curiosity to action. This is a skill they will need to be successful as teachers. I see it as a "Dewian" method of experiential learning. A new teachers affective reactions to teaching need to be examined and challenged, but they need a concrete method for how to do this.
