Presumable you saw that your students had trouble with interpersonal skills. Perhaps you were finding that you had to settle problems frequently. You might have researched this topic and found that increasing awareness of problems before they appear was a strategy that was recommended. Another might have been to have student share ideas. Then you might have developed this plan. After you put it in place, your measures might include a measure shifts in attitudes. And you might also record how often you have to intervene. Then you would reflect on why you think this action is working or not working and how you could make it more effective or understand better what part is the action is responsible for the change.
In 2008, I initiated project-based learning at my school setting implementing iEARN activities on my own classrooms. Then, I started disseminating the use of ICT and online projects with my colleagues along the way. More recently, I have focused on inclusive education and the participation of special education needs students in international online collaborative projects, particularly, with deaf students. I thought the students taking part in this program at school were isolated and I wanted to inform their teachers they could take part in collaborative projects as well as any other students at school. They started with Holiday Card Exchange and Adobe Youth Voices project and had (and continue having) great results on both.

Even though I really didn´t know I was doing an step of AR cycle, I have been sharing our initiatives on many instances, as for example, the Image Conference, local TESOL events and IEARN Conferences, besides our own teacher´s workshop at school.
Maybe you will want to join an iearn teachers learning circle for the next year and work as a group to develop action research. We once in a while reflect on what we said or did. We are so busy that we sometimes cannot sustain our reflection and follow-up on our actions. I view the importance of reflection - deep reflective thinking. With this reflection, I raise a question of how I can improve problems or make things better. Reflection helps me become a better person. We all know the world is not perfect. One of my colleagues told me that my idea is out of reach and may not be realized until later. So we stall here? I like to extend one step out, take an action, which may change our world to be a better place. My favorite quote by Steve Jobs - Connecting the dots. His words gave me a different perspective. Steve said, “... you have to trust that the dots will somehow connect in your future. You have to trust in something — your gut, destiny, life, karma, whatever. This approach has never let me down, and it has made all the difference in my life.” I believe his philosophy lies in the Apple’s creativity and innovation, which built the Apple’s success for today. What we can do is to continue reflecting the matter you care, and to ask ourselves what we can do. This makes quite a difference in our lives.
Hello Everyone,

What really attracts me to AR is that it allows participative observation and learn by doing approach, at least the way I see it now. I just learned it is a cyclic process and not ongoing process as I had been thinking so far. It does make a difference to realize that because the plan of action for the research takes a whole different aspect.

Another aspect AC I find compelling, and made my shifting from ethnographic research, is that it involves other people in the process, and not only the dichotomy researcher and subject of research. Besides that, the AC approach is not strictly ehmic as it accepts and balances between qualitative and quantitative aspects of data collecting.
Thanks for your comments-- it is cyclic and ongoing.
